Birmingham Comedy Festival
Running from Friday 4 to Sunday 13 October 2024, the UK's second longest running comedy/arts festival boasts over 80 performances, including appearances from some of the biggest names in stand-up, and over 35 austerity-busting free/ donation shows!

* Plenty of big TV comedy names, including Sarah Millican (13 Oct, Symphony Hall), The Mash Report’s Rachel Parris (10 Oct, Town Hall), Maisie Adam (8 Oct, Town Hall), Milton Jones (6 Oct, Town Hall) and Richard Blackwood (13 Oct, The Glee Club).
* The Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award (Thu 10 Oct, The Glee Club) - the region's biggest comedy prize finds five of the very best emerging acts from the West Mids vie for the title ... and the famed trophy: The Mug Of Victory. * Birmingham Comedy Festival FREE Half-Dayers (Sun 6 & Sun 13 Oct, The Victoria & Cherry Reds, from 1pm) - 16x 1hr shows spread over two Sundays at two venues in John Bright Street (B'ham City Centre). Featuring appearances from Eric Rushton (winner of the Channel 4 Sean Lock Award), Hannah Weetman (Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award 2022 winner) and Rob Kemp (Best Performer: Comedians' Choice Awards Edinburgh). About the Show:

Following the tremendous success of The Old Joint Stock Theatre’s five-star summer show First Date, which garnered rave reviews and sold-out performances, The Old Joint Stock, now in collaboration with West End Best Friend Productions, is back with another must-see production.
About the Show:
Ordinary Days tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfilment, happiness, love, and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. Ordinary Days is an original musical for anyone who's ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humour and poignancy, it celebrates how 8.3 million individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and extraordinary home.
Ordinary Days The Musical is brought to life under the direction of Karl Steele, with associate director Emily Susanne Lloyd and produced by the Old Joint Stock and West End Best Friend.
